From a consumers point of view that might seem like a really tempting deal. Unfortunately it probably isn’t at all. In order to offer a price like that it would
require leaving out the majority of the essential steps to save the cleanertime and money. In addition, the products that would be used would have to be extremely low end.

Here are a few examples of things that would most likely NOT
be included:

Raking the carpet with a grandy groomer before
power vaccuming. (If this step is missed, and many companies do skip it, you
are only getting half of the job done)
At this point the job is already a rip off and they haven’t even applied
a product yet.
Using only water with no rinse agent (this will leave your carpet in an alkaline
state, and cause your carpets to re-soil
very quickly) It’s crucial to leave your carpets in a PH level as close to
